Chinese Cloisonné Dragon Trinket Box | Vintage Enamel Lidded Pot | Turquoise Blue

A beautifully decorated Chinese cloisonné enamel lidded box featuring a striking traditional dragon design against a vibrant turquoise blue background.

The dragon is depicted in shades of yellow, green, red, black and white, surrounded by intricate scrolling cloud motifs outlined in fine metal wirework.

The box has a rounded form with brass-coloured metal rims, a blue enamelled interior and a decorative enamelled underside.

The detailed dragon face, expressive eyes, scales and flowing decoration make this an attractive example of traditional Chinese cloisonné craftsmanship.

Age and origin

Chinese, believed to be 20th century, possibly early to mid-century. The exact date and workshop have not been established.

Condition

Excellent overall condition, with no chips or cracks identified on inspection.

The lid fits well. There is some natural variation and minor pitting in the enamel, together with age-related surface marks and discolouration to the metal rims. A construction join is visible in the metal rim.
