Vintage Heavy Cast Metal Horse Figurine Black Equestrian Statue Decorative Horse Sculpture 26cm

A striking vintage decorative horse figure with a substantial weight and wonderful aged character.

The horse has an elegant upright stance with a long flowing mane and tail, finely modelled facial features and decorative bridle and harness detailing. It is finished predominantly in black with white markings to the lower legs and contrasting brown/gilt-toned details to the tack.

This is a particularly substantial piece, weighing over 2.6kg despite standing only 26cm tall.

The exact metal and maker have not been identified, so I have deliberately described this simply as cast metal rather than making a more specific attribution.

Condition:

Vintage condition with considerable age-related wear to the painted finish, including rubbing, marks, scratches and areas where earlier layers/surface are visible.

There are visible casting/seam lines to the body and general surface irregularities consistent with the construction and age of the piece.

The bridle and harness decoration also shows wear and loss to the finish.
