Chinese Cloisonné Owl Trinket Box Enamel Lotus Floral Bird Figurine 6cm

A charming Chinese cloisonné enamel trinket box modelled as a colourful owl.

The little owl is beautifully decorated with traditional cloisonné enamel work, featuring large golden-yellow eyes, a raised brass-coloured beak and an attractive lotus flower and foliage design across the body. Rich turquoise, blue, green, pink and burgundy enamels are separated by fine metal wirework.

The box separates around the centre to reveal a striking turquoise blue enamelled interior. The reverse is decorated with further scrolling cloisonné wirework against a deep burgundy ground.

A particularly appealing little decorative piece and a lovely addition to a collection of cloisonné, miniature boxes, owls or Asian decorative arts.

Condition

Very good pre-owned condition overall. No obvious major enamel loss, cracks or significant dents can be seen. There are minor signs of age and use, including some marks/spotting to the interior. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
