Vintage Carn Pottery Tall Studio Pottery Vase – John Beusmans – N7 – Cornwall – 26cm

A striking tall vintage studio pottery vase by Carn Pottery of Nancledra, near Penzance, Cornwall, associated with potter and designer John Beusmans.

At approximately 26cm tall, this is an unusually substantial and architectural Carn Pottery piece, with a wonderfully slender sculptural form.

The exterior features characteristic hand-finished relief and incised decoration. One face is decorated with a large stylised flower together with spiral motifs, while the reverse carries a dramatic elongated abstract cellular or pebble-like design.

The restrained cream, brown and earthy tonal decoration gives the vase the distinctive organic appearance associated with Carn Pottery and Cornish studio ceramics.

The base carries the printed factory mark:

CARN POTTERY
NANCLEDRA
PENZANCE
CORNWALL

It is additionally marked N7, which appears to be the Carn form/design reference.

A particularly decorative example, and its 26cm height gives it considerably more presence than many of the smaller Carn Pottery pieces commonly encountered.

Very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted.
