Vintage Isle of Wight Studio Glass Miniature Bird

A beautiful miniature studio glass bird by Isle of Wight Studio Glass, presented in its original branded cylindrical box.

The little bird is made in a wonderful sea-green/turquoise glass with shimmering gold leaf decoration and iridescent detailing. The colouring and decoration appear consistent with Isle of Wight Studio Glass’s Golden Peacock Green production of the 1980s.

The underside retains part of its original Isle of Wight Glass label, providing a particularly useful confirmation of attribution.

Even better, the bird comes with its original gold-coloured presentation tube, repeatedly printed “The Original Isle of Wight Glass”.

A lovely small example of collectible British studio glass and particularly appealing with both its surviving label and original packaging.

Condition:
The glass bird is in good vintage condition. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.

The original paper label on the underside is only partially present, with age-related wear and loss as shown.

The original presentation tube also shows age and storage wear, including rubbing and wear around the edges. This has been retained as an important part of the piece’s provenance and presentation.

Attribution:
The surviving label and original branded packaging identify this as Isle of Wight Glass. The Golden Peacock Green range attribution is based upon the colouring and decorative characteristics and is therefore described as probable rather than guaranteed.

A charming little piece of British studio glass with an enormous amount of character for something only 5 cm long.
