Vintage Isle of Wight Studio Glass Pink Azurene Egg Paperweight

A beautiful vintage art glass egg by Isle of Wight Studio Glass, retaining its original Isle of Wight Glass label to the base.

The piece features a rich raspberry/plum coloured glass with sweeping darker trails and striking areas of metallic gold leaf. Depending on the light, the glass produces wonderful flashes of purple, blue and pink iridescence.

The decoration is characteristic of Isle of Wight’s celebrated Azurene range, originally developed by Michael Harris and William Walker.

A particularly attractive small example, with the metallic inclusions and flowing trails giving a different appearance from every angle.
