Isle of Wight Studio Glass Bird Mulberry Iridescent Art Glass Boxed Vintage

Vintage Isle of Wight Studio Glass miniature bird, presented in its original Isle of Wight Glass cylindrical box.

A beautiful small studio glass bird with a wonderfully iridescent finish, displaying rich shades of blue, purple and silver with scattered multicoloured inclusions. The colours change considerably as the piece catches the light.

The decoration appears consistent with the Summer Fruits “Mulberry” pattern, introduced by Isle of Wight Studio Glass in the 1990s, although I have described the specific pattern as attributed rather than definitive.

The underside carries the impressed Isle of Wight Glass factory mark, confirming its manufacture.

A particularly attractive example and a lovely collectable piece of British studio glass.

Condition:

The glass bird is in very good vintage condition. Please study all photographs carefully as these form an important part of the description.

The original cylindrical presentation box shows some age-related wear, marks and creasing, as visible in the photographs.

Please note that handmade studio glass can contain small bubbles, variations and irregularities arising naturally during manufacture.
