Vintage Gozo Glass Malta Hand-Blown Art Glass Vase

A striking small studio art glass vase by Gozo Glass of Malta, retaining its original Gozo Glass paper label and signed/marked to the polished base.

The vase has a beautifully sculptural form with a broad flared rim, rounded body and spreading foot. The glass appears predominantly deep charcoal, smoky blue and almost black under normal lighting, with sweeping cream and blue-grey inclusions.

Held to the light, however, the character of the glass changes dramatically, revealing rich amber, bronze and golden tones running through the body and flared rim. This wonderful interaction with light makes it particularly attractive displayed on a windowsill or illuminated shelf.

Individually hand blown, with the organic variations and inclusions associated with studio-made glass.
