Vintage Chinese Plique-à-Jour Enamel Miniature Lidded Pot Beijing Boxed

A beautiful miniature vintage Chinese plique-à-jour enamel lidded pot, made in Beijing, China.

This delicate little piece is decorated throughout with colourful floral motifs in shades of pink, cream, yellow and green, set against a particularly attractive turquoise-blue ground. The design is formed from fine metalwork filled with translucent enamel, creating the luminous, jewel-like appearance associated with the plique-à-jour enamelling technique.

Both the domed lid and lower section are decorated, with further floral detail to the underside. The pot separates into two sections and displays beautifully on its small dark wooden stand.

It also retains its original presentation box, complete with a label reading “MADE IN BEIJING, CHINA”, which is a lovely addition for a collector.

A charming and unusually small example of Chinese decorative enamel work, ideal for a collection of plique-à-jour, Chinese enamels or miniature objets d’art.
