Attributed Antica Murrina Venetian / Murano Glass Charm Necklace

A fabulous statement necklace featuring a rich cascade of red, pink, amber and copper-toned art glass beads suspended from an antiqued metal chain.

The necklace is dominated by beautiful red glass drops and heart-shaped beads, complemented by an assortment of decorative Venetian-style glass beads including copper/gold foil effects, swirled glass, translucent pink glass and tiny floral accents.

This necklace is unsigned, however I have attributed it to Antica Murrina of Venice based upon comparison with a closely related Antica Murrina necklace in my collection. The construction, antiqued chain, individually suspended charms, decorative bead caps and distinctive combination of red, pink and copper/gold foil glass beads are exceptionally similar.

As there is no surviving maker’s tag, label or box with this particular necklace, the Antica Murrina attribution cannot be guaranteed and it is being described accordingly.

A wonderfully flamboyant piece of Italian-inspired jewellery with tremendous movement and colour when worn. The large central red heart makes a particularly striking focal point.

Measurements:
Approximately 51 cm long overall, with an additional short extension chain.

Condition:
Good pre-owned condition overall. The metal has an antiqued/patinated appearance and there may be minor signs of age and wear consistent with previous use. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
