Vintage Bohemian Ruby Red Glass Egg Gilt Grapevine Floral Decor Ornate Stand

A beautiful vintage decorative glass egg in rich ruby red, lavishly embellished with gilt grapevines, leaves, flowers and clusters of grapes.

The translucent ruby glass catches the light wonderfully, while the extensive raised gold decoration gives the piece a particularly opulent appearance. The egg is mounted on an ornate gilt metal pedestal with a foliate design, complemented by decorative metal detailing around the glass.

The combination of ruby glass, gilded botanical decoration and elaborate egg form gives the piece a distinctly Continental and Imperial-inspired appearance. It is believed to be of Bohemian/Czech origin and likely dates from the latter half of the 20th century.

A particularly attractive decorative object that would work beautifully displayed amongst antique glass, objets d’art or as part of an eclectic maximalist interior.
