Vintage Murano Glass Pendant Necklace Aventurine Art Glass Venetian Jewellery

A striking vintage genuine Murano glass heart pendant necklace, handmade in Italy and featuring a beautiful combination of shimmering silver-coloured metallic leaf with expressive black glass trails.

The pendant is formed as a softly rounded heart in clear glass. Beneath the surface is a wonderfully reflective silver-toned foil or leaf layer with a naturally textured, crackled appearance, crossed by bold free-form black decoration. The result is wonderfully graphic and changes considerably as the pendant catches the light.

The reverse is impressed with an oval maker’s mark reading:

This is particularly useful in confirming the pendant’s Italian Murano origin.

The heart has a clear glass integral bail and is currently presented on a multi-strand black ribbon and cord necklace, which complements the monochrome design beautifully.

A very wearable piece of Italian art glass jewellery and an attractive example of Murano’s long tradition of decorative glassmaking.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition overall. The textured and crackled appearance visible within the silver-coloured decoration is part of the glass design rather than surface damage. As a handmade glass piece, minor variations and irregularities are part of its character.
