Murano Glass Millefiori Pendant Necklace Green Gold Foil Italian Venetian Glass

A beautiful Murano glass pendant necklace featuring a rich combination of emerald and olive green glass with shimmering gold foil and two delicate millefiori flower inclusions.

The square glass pendant is worn on the diagonal and has wonderful depth, with the fragmented gold and green foil creating an almost mosaic-like appearance beneath the clear surface. Two contrasting floral murrine add a lovely traditional Venetian detail.

Particularly nice is the reverse of the pendant, which is repeatedly marked “MURANO GLASS”, providing good confirmation of its Italian Murano origin.

The pendant is suspended from a vivid green textile cord finished with gold-tone metal fittings and a lobster clasp.

Condition

Very good pre-owned condition overall.

The glass pendant presents beautifully with no obvious significant chips or cracks visible. There is some wear and fluffing/fraying to the green textile cord, particularly around the fittings and pendant, consistent with previous use. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.

The gold-coloured fittings are described as gold-tone metal. No precious-metal hallmark has been identified.

Attribution

This piece can be confidently described as Murano glass rather than merely “Murano style”. In addition to the characteristic foil-glass and murrine construction associated with Venetian jewellery, the reverse of the pendant itself is repeatedly marked MURANO GLASS.

No individual Murano maker’s mark has been identified, so the necklace is deliberately not attributed to a particular factory or designer.

A wonderfully colourful piece of Venetian glass jewellery, with the green and gold becoming especially vibrant as the pendant catches the light.
