Jozefina Krosno Hand Blown Glass Pedestal Bowl | Opaline White, Smoky Iridescent Stem

An elegant hand-blown art glass pedestal bowl produced by Jozefina Glassworks, Krosno, Poland, featuring the factory’s highly recognisable sculptural “Jellyfish” or “Octopus” design.

The bowl is beautifully executed with a soft opaline white cased glass upper bowl supported by an organically formed twisted smoky glass stem. Four applied curled scrolls radiate beneath the bowl, while the foot displays an attractive iridescent lustre that shifts through blues, purples, greens and bronze depending on the light.

This striking sculptural design became one of the signature styles produced in the Krosno region of Poland during the late twentieth century and remains highly collectable today. Each example was individually hand finished, meaning subtle variations occur from piece to piece.

A wonderful statement piece that works equally well as a decorative centrepiece, fruit bowl, sweet dish or simply as an example of modern Polish studio art glass.

Condition

Very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs observed. Light surface wear commensurate with age and careful use.
