A striking first quality Royal Crown Derby Millennium Bug paperweight, designed by John Ablitt to commemorate the arrival of the new millennium.

Finished in rich cobalt blue with hand-applied 22ct gold decoration and fitted with the desirable gold stopper, this unusual scarab-inspired design is one of the most distinctive pieces in the Royal Crown Derby paperweight range.

This example is in excellent vintage condition with bright colours and crisp gilding. It retains its original gold stopper and is clearly marked Millennium Bug with the 1999 Royal Crown Derby backstamp.
