Vintage Indian White Metal Trinket Box, Filigree Cabochon Jewellery Casket

Vintage handcrafted white metal trinket or jewellery box featuring intricate filigree-style decoration and colourful cabochon stone embellishments throughout.

The lid is richly decorated with ornate scrolling wirework and set with an attractive collection of polished cabochons in red, green, grey, orange and cream tones surrounding a larger central dark green stone. The decorative design continues around all sides of the box, giving it a striking and highly decorative appearance from every angle.

Likely of Indian artisan manufacture and dating to the mid to late 20th century, this charming piece has a wonderful bohemian aesthetic and displays beautifully as a jewellery box, keepsake casket, altar piece or curiosity cabinet display.

The box retains its original aged patina which I have intentionally left untouched to preserve its vintage character.

Condition

Good vintage condition with age-related wear, surface marks, tarnish and patina consistent with age and use. Minor imperfections are present from handmade manufacture. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
