Vintage Chinese Jade Hardstone Ritual Blade Carving | Archaistic Scholar Object Pendant

$111.96

Shipping to United States: $49.01

Vintage Chinese carved jade hardstone ritual blade (gui form) featuring intricate archaistic scrollwork inspired by ancient Chinese ceremonial jades.

This decorative carving is fashioned from an attractive translucent olive, honey and cream coloured stone with natural mottling throughout. When illuminated, the stone displays a beautiful internal glow that highlights the detailed carving and natural inclusions.

The design is based on ancient Chinese ceremonial blades known as “gui”, objects traditionally associated with ritual, status and scholarly symbolism. This example is believed to be a later decorative interpretation rather than an ancient artefact.

The carving features finely detailed scrolling motifs on the front with a polished reverse and pleasing waxy surface characteristic of jade and related hardstones.
