Shipping to United States: $49.01

A charming vintage Soviet-era Russian lacquer box featuring a hand-painted folk art scene titled “Парочка” (Parochka), translating as “The Couple.”

The scene depicts a traditionally dressed couple standing together beneath trees, rendered in bright colours against a deep black lacquer background. The artwork is signed and marked CCCP (USSR), confirming production during the Soviet period.

Constructed from traditional papier-mâché and finished with black lacquer, the box retains its original red-lined interior and displays the distinctive hand-painted decoration associated with Russian folk art workshops.

The piece has developed an attractive aged appearance over time, with wear and patina consistent with its age that adds character and authenticity.

A lovely addition to any collection of Russian decorative arts, Soviet memorabilia, lacquerware or folk-art miniatures.
