A striking pair of vintage Chinese cloisonné enamel vases featuring dramatic dragon decoration on a rich deep red ground with black, gold and cream enamel detailing throughout.
These decorative copper-bodied vases are beautifully hand-finished in the traditional cloisonné technique, with intricate brass wirework separating the coloured enamel sections. The design features stylised dragons among floral and scrolling motifs, giving the pair a wonderfully atmospheric Chinoiserie aesthetic.
The rich oxblood-red colouring is especially eye-catching in natural light and gives the vases a bold, almost jewel-like appearance. They display beautifully together and work particularly well in eclectic, maximalist, oriental or dark-academia inspired interiors.
Likely dating to the mid-late 20th century.
