A beautifully atmospheric vintage Chinese table screen featuring an intricate black lacquer panel with shimmering mother of pearl landscape inlay, housed within an exceptionally decorative hand carved hardwood shadow-box style frame.

The scene depicts a tranquil moonlit waterscape with traditional bridges, riverside pavilions, willow trees and fishing boats, all rendered in iridescent shell inlay that catches the light beautifully from different angles. The panel also features elegant calligraphy and a traditional workshop seal, adding to its classic scholar’s studio aesthetic.

What truly elevates this piece is the remarkable carved hardwood surround.
